Falling Down

Wooden cabin in the Galiuro Mountains, adjacent to a mine that operated between years 1910 and 1950.  Someone kindly gave it a crutch, merely delaying its inevitable collapse.

Looking in through the hole for the stovepipe.

This cabin's roof has fallen in - wooden structures dont fare well in the extreme conditions of the desert.  These two were a rare treat, being the only I've ever had the pleasure to discover in this expansive and rugged mining district.

Desert Firetail

Desert Firetail dragonfly (Telebasis salva), midtown Tucson.

Male dragonflies are bright red; this female is brown, with just a hint of color in her intricately designed wings.
